Horse Show News:
Turns out that a rumor reported here
(and elsewhere) about
the Lake Placid Horse Shows
having
problems with immigration is off the mark. Thanks to the efforts
of offcials of the town of Lake Placid and of Essex County, and
horse show chairman
Richard Feldman
, any previous problems

with immigration and the border patrol have now been rectifed.
The horse show has been assured that the border patrol will
only be called in when there is an incident involving the police.
Otherwise, they will not be a factor.
Speaking of Lake Placid, we were delighted to hear that the
show grounds were unaffected by
Hurricane Irene
. Despite what
happened to many areas, there was no impact on the grounds in
Lake Placid—no puddles, no damage of any kind. Reports are
that they could’ve held a horse show there the frst day after the
hurricane was over!
