defnitely an up and coming trainer at 27.

Letter from the Editor
It seemed like half the known
(dressage) world was in Wellington
at the end of January for the World
Dressage Masters and we were well
represented with web editor Erin
Gilmore covering it and photographer
KimMacMillan and her trusty sidekick,
Mary Kay Bonner, taking the pictures.
Our layout is a delight for those of us
who weren’t on the grounds – and
is sure to offer some memories for
those lucky enough to attend.
Our cover girl, Genay Vaughn, is
a rising star in the dressage world,
although she’s not quite at the four
star level, expect more stars in her
eyes in the future.
Judy Richter is a most interesting
(and opinionated) woman and Lauren
Giannini caught the essence of the
real Judy in her story. Lauren also
visited with Larry Byers, the new joint
master of Aiken Hounds. Larry is a
personal friend of mine and one of the
best foxhunters I’ve ever known.
In keeping with our ongoing interest in recycled horses, we
have a couple of Second Chances stories this issue. One of our
Needy Nags found a new home as a therapy horse and the New
Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is certainly a place to
visit if you want a quality, well started horse and are on a tight
budget. I window shop that site regularly!
