in the scale is nutrition, a fundamental that Zeitgeist takes so
seriously that they mix their own grain and send it to a lab for
testing. From there, Sanjay says it’s “ftness, ftness, ftness,”
followed by “slow, methodical, training.”
These fundamentals are so critical to Phoebe and Sanjay that
they will only attend shows with ideal footing, and even travel with
a complete set of farrier’s tools – including an anvil and oven – just
in case a horse needs shoeing on the road, and then Zeitgeist
will fy in their farrier. On the road, the horses travel in style in a
custom-designed, temperature controlled trailer with a box stall
for each horse, which Sanjay drives himself in order to stay close
to his horses.
At heart, however, the Zeitgeist team is not much different from
any other horse lover. Sanjay says that for himself and Phoebe,
“Taking nine horses to the show is like eating nine ice creams. We
do it because we love it!”
