SIDELINES AUGUST 2013 41
Joey competes in the low amateur-owner jumper division.
I am taking on a more creative, marketing, branding role, while
my brother is more involved with the production of the wine. We,
along with my husband, Max, make a really a great team and
share the goal of surviving our father’s legacy.
7. Tell us how and why you founded The Styleliner and how
it’s going?
I founded The Styleliner in June of 2010. I was working in
corporate fashion and desperately wanted to do my own thing.
I felt there was a growing sense of global style and goods and
wanted to bring that to the United States. Food trucks were also
becoming a trend in New York in 2010, so combining that with the
growing frenzy of social media The Styleliner was born. Like any
start-up, it has had its ups and downs, but things are great at the
moment. We are working on a franchise in DC as well as a pop-up
location in Venice in the Los Angeles area. It has been an organic
growth, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
8. Why did you decide to have The Styleliner and Wolffer
Estate sponsor The Hampton Classic?
We love the Hampton Classic. We have been sponsors for
years and plan to be for years to come. We are truly involved in
the local community and believe that the Hampton Classic is a
world-class event that brings only great things to our community.
For the Styleliner, it is also a great way to close out the summer
in the Hamptons!
9. How do these partnerships help?
Any partnerships through the Styleliner or Wolffer have to be
organic and have longevity. The Classic is an event that I have
loved my whole life and continue to look forward to each year.
The Wolffer patron and Styleliner customer are also those that
attend and participate in the Hampton Classic.
10. Who are your biggest influences and why?
In terms of riding, I am always in awe and constantly inspired
by McLain Ward’s style and ease at navigating both his horse
and the course. In terms of life and business, I am inspired by
strong women like Diane Von Furstenberg. She built her business
from the ground up and has been able to maintain her success
throughout the years. I also admire my father’s tenacity and
resilience when it came to business. He never let anyone or
anything get in his way.
