Meet Devan Cottrell 🐴 Born into a family of eq Meet Devan Cottrell 🐴

Born into a family of equestrians, Devan Cottrell was in the saddle before he could walk. Many of the skills he learned growing up are put to use in his daily life as a trainer at Arrow Hill Farm in Nashville, Tennessee; others are less often used. “We had family friends that owned a private zoo, and I was able to have great experiences with a variety of exotic animals,” Devan shared. “I often think I could still probably use those skills to wrangle an alligator if one ever were to show up somewhere on the HITS Ocala show grounds.” Aside from keeping grounds clear of wild animals, Devan’s time at the shows is less in the saddle himself and more working with horses and riders—which is just how he likes it. “I have a passion for developing horses and take a lot of pride in laying the foundation work so my customers and horses both can have those ever-so-sought-after ‘aha!’ moments in and out of the show ring,” he said. “My passion is really setting up my horses and riders to achieve their goals.” When he’s not working with horses, Devan loves to travel. “And honestly, I love to eat,” he added. “Finding the best and most interesting restaurants wherever we are is usually my goal, and I won’t lie to you—I’ve certainly planned a vacation or two around where I know I want to get a meal!”

If you were to ask how Harper Henry would describe If you were to ask how Harper Henry would describe her artistic style, she would say something along the lines of how each painting is an exploration—a way to push artistic boundaries and discover new depths within the world of oil painting. Mainly featuring horses as well as western themes, Harper’s work is a unique fusion of two contradictory art styles: abstract and realism.

Descending from a family of equine enthusiasts and artists—both of Harper’s grandmothers were artists, as well as her aunt who owned a large Appaloosa breeding and training operation in Idaho—Harper’s love of art and horses developed from an early age. “I’ve been interested in art my entire life, since my earliest memories,” Harper said. “I never wanted to do anything else.”

Meet Jeremy Greene 🐴 Growing up in Buffalo, Ne Meet Jeremy Greene 🐴

Growing up in Buffalo, New York, Jeremy Greene was introduced to horses through both his mother and stepmother. He’s worked for top pros and even had his own business, but now he stays involved with horses—and horse people—as a USEF ‘R’ judge and a realtor with The Corcoran Group, specializing in luxury and equestrian properties. “I know equestrians well—I know what they want. I’m a horseman, too,” he said. Jeremy now lives in Wellington, Florida, with his two dogs: Milo and recent rescue Little Bit. He enjoys cooking and being outdoors, including gardening, mountain biking and traveling. His favorite place so far? “The Sierra Nevadas,” Jeremy answered. “I love the mountains, and getting to see herds of wild horses—it’s truly amazing. There are so many places to appreciate right here in this beautiful country of ours.”
