Equestrian Sport Productions’ Holiday Festival II Show Wrap-Up: December 20-22, 2012

Wellington, FL – December 23, 2012 – Equestrian Sport Productions held its Holiday Festival II competition this weekend on December 20-22, 2012, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington FL. The competition featured a $25,000 Grand Prix, $10,000 Welcome Stake, and a full schedule of hunter, jumper and equitation classes.

Jorge Verswyvel and Victoria Win $25,000 ESP Holiday II Grand Prix

In the highlight event of the week on Saturday, 33 entries showed in the $25,000 ESP Holiday II Grand Prix jumping a course set by Catsy Cruz of Mexico. Mexico’s Jorge Verswyvel was the only rider to clear the course without fault riding Loisse Garcia’s Victoria to win with a time of 75.344 seconds. Molly Ashe and Olivia Jack’s Executive Privilege 3E were clear over the jumps but incurred one time fault in 79.479 seconds to finish second. Maggie Jayne had the fastest four-fault round aboard Alex Jayne’s Thomas Edison to place third in 69.857 seconds.

Other top finishers included Capall Zidane and Ronan McGuigan in fourth, Kesley Thatcher and Pony Lane Farm’s Dulf Van Den Bisschop in fifth, Gemma Paternoster and Sabine Ohly’s Indochine in sixth, Gemma Paternoster and Zonneglans in seventh, and Ramiro Quintana and St. Bride’s Farm’s Whitney in eighth.

In the $10,000 Welcome Stake on Thursday, Georgina Bloomberg jumped to victory aboard Radio City, owned by Gotham Enterprizes, LLC. Seven out of 29 entries advanced to the jump-off and Bloomberg and Radio City completed the fastest of four double clear rounds in 32.986 seconds for the win.

Ramiro Quintana earned both the second and third place prizes. Quintana jumped Alice, owned by Maverick Ventures LLC, to second place with a time of 34.596 seconds. He piloted Whitney to third in 36.347 seconds. Fourth place went to Heather Caristo Williams riding Evening Star, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Caristo, in 37.518 seconds.

Georgina Bloomberg and Radio City

On Friday, Cynthia Screnci jumped to victory in the $1,500 Tackeria Child/Adult Jumper Classic riding Kasimir. Andrea Dowd finished second riding Lillian Dowd’s Mademoiselle Zoe. Third place honors went to John Tredennick riding Wood Run Farms’ Trueman’s Affair.

Saturday’s $2,500 NAL Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic saw a win for La Fleur 43 and Leo Paoli. Carl Loui TSP and Alison Slott finished second with Ultimo Van Ter Moude and Tori Corts in third.

The High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic was won by Nerval De La Batia and Margaret Bopp. L.B. Stanislaus and Filip Amram placed second with Hollow Creek Farm’s La Fe Forli and Emanuel Andrade in third.

In the $1,500 Low Child Jumper Classic, Joanne Janson’s Sunshine and Francesca Dildabanian earned victory. Kelly Davato’s Joyride and Rylie Alewine finished second. CMJ Sporthorse LLC’s Elphaba and Charles Jacobs were third.

The $1,500 Low Adult Jumper Classic was won by Waldina and Maria Alejandra Andrade. Fabio Mazzarella rode Laurie Berry’s Don Argentino to second place. Andrea Jackson and Sandhya finished third.

The weekend’s jumper classes concluded with the $2,500 M&S Child/Adult Jumper Classic with a win for Amanda Harris and Brijant. Andrea Dowd and Mademoiselle Zoe finished second and Elizabeth Craven and Silverado were third.

Hunter and Equitation Highlights

In the hunter divisions, Laurie Stevens and Iceman earned the championship in the Adult Amateur Hunters over Jenna Weiner and Ferragamo’s Feature.      In the Green Conformation Hunters, Erynn Ballard and Syndey Taylor’s Aoki were champion with Tina Allen’s Galaxy and Brooke Baldwin-De Grazia in reserve. In the Working Hunters, Jennifer Bliss rode Poker Face to the championship win with Erynn Ballard and Aoki in reserve.

The Performance Hunter 3’3″ & 3’6″ championship went to Lainie Wimberly and Postage Stamp Farm LLC’s Supernova with Angela Covert and Eastwood Equine Inc.’s Valentin in reserve.

The Arenus Low Working Hunter champion was Heiress owned and ridden by Andrea Holland. Ashley Shobert’s Striptease and Josee Stedding finished in reserve.

Sophie Michaels dominated the Large Junior Hunter championship for the week, earning the championship aboard Further Lane Farm’s Stellar and finishing in reserve aboard Further Lane Farm’s Mahalo.

In the pony divisions, Francesca Dildabanian rode Laugh Out Loud to the Medium Pony Hunter Championship with Emma Kurtz and Erika Luter’s Butterfly Kisses in reserve. The Large Pony Hunter champions were Ali Tritschler and Linda Evans’ Dreamland. Emma Kurtz and Scott Stewart’s All My Love earned the reserve championship.

In the equitation classes, Sydney Shulman and Back Country Farm’s Eli won the Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Medal, presented by Randolph College, as well as the ASPCA Maclay class.
