[LEXINGTON, Ky.] – Horse-crazy kids will put the horses out to pasture and pull on their party boots for Alltech’s Barn Night in the Bluegrass, presented by Group C, at the Alltech National Horse Show. During this barn bazaar on Friday, Nov. 1, youth from around the region are invited to meet with all-star equestrians and show true “barn spirit” for a chance to win prizes in the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Open to young riders, equestrian groups and kids who simply love horses, Barn Night in the Bluegrass encourages youth to make banners, dress in horse gear and wear their barn’s logo to participate in spirit competitions held during the evening’s events. Spirit prizes awarded to Barn Night participants throughout the night will include year-long subscriptions to Sidelines magazine, official merchandise of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, a year’s supply of LIFEFORCE Elite™ natural digestive supplement and a Lyons Farm™ barn grill-out package sponsored by Alltech. The most spirited barn or equestrian group will win a golf cart for their facility. One super-spirited Barn Night participant will win a trip for four to attend the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, France.
Barn Night in the Bluegrass participants will be grouped in a premier seating section of the Alltech Arena while world-class equestrians aim for record heights during Friday’s LIFEFORCE Elite™ Puissance competition. All Barn Night participants will receive a complimentary gift bag supported by Sidelines magazine and the Kentucky Horse Council. When the class has ended, youth will be invited into the ring for autographs and pictures with elite equestrians competing at the Alltech National Horse Show.
In addition to the equestrian action, Barn Night youth and their families can enjoy activities that are part of Alltech’s first-everKentucky Gathering, including novelty shopping venues, a showcase of local foods and craft brews, and a photo opportunity with the new Alltech National Horse Show mascot. Local band Girls Guns and Glory will amp up the spirit with live music throughout Barn Night.
Alltech’s Barn Night in the Bluegrass is presented by Group C with support from Sidelines magazine and the Kentucky Horse Council. In the weeks leading up to the Alltech National Horse Show, Alltech representatives will visit local equestrian groups to drop off a “Barn Bucket” containing a set of free tickets to Friday night of the Alltech National Horse Show. If your equestrian group or facility would like to request a “Barn Bucket,” please contact Chelsea Magee at cmagee@alltech.com.
Registration for Barn Night is free and required for participants to be eligible for prizes. To register, e-mail the names of participants and their equestrian facility of affiliation, if applicable, to Chelsea Magee atcmagee@alltech.com. Registration is also available at www.alltechnationalhorseshow.com/event-information/barn-night-in-the-bluegrass/.
