Laurence Blais Tetreault Named Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month for August

OTTAWA, ON, Sept.16 2013 — Laurence Blais Tetreault of Montreal, QC has been named the Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month for August.

Blais Tetreault received this award for outstanding results achieved representing the Province of Quebec and Canada at the 2013 Adequan FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships, presented by Gotham North, held July 16-21, 2013 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.

Blais Tetreault of Montreal, QC, and Lowelas, her 13-year-old Trakehner gelding sired by Hockey 41, earned two gold medals. A golden first place finish for their 71.525% performance in the FEI Junior Freestyle, and for the FEI Junior team test, a score of 68.378% helped secure gold for Junior Team Quebec and a second place overall finish for Blais Tetreault. It’s the second year in a row that Blais Tetreault, as part of Junior Team Quebec, has won gold in the FEI junior team division at NAJYRC.

“It’s an honor for me to have been named Athlete of the Month by Dressage Canada. I am extremely happy that my hard work allowed me to receive this title. I would like to thank my horse, my teammates at the championships, my family, my wonderful coach and Red Scarf equestrian for sponsoring this award!” commented Blais Tetreault.

The Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month is a recognition program that celebrates the achievements of Canadian dressage riders who represent Canada in international competition in the FEI Pony, Children, Junior, Young Rider, Advanced, Grand Prix and Young Horse classes.
