SAUGERTIES, NY (June 3, 2013) – Before a fourth-place finish in Sunday’s $75,000 Grand Prix, presented by Zoetis, Peter Wylde piloted Ann Dotoli’s Eternity to the blue in the $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Prix on Saturday at HITS Saugerties. Wylde, of Lake Worth, Florida, switched hypothetical gears and rode Eternity to a pair of 88s for the hunter prix win.
“I was lucky to be able to do this on such a great horse. My dear friend Ann Dotoli let me ride her and she is such a fantastic jumper,” said Wylde. “Both rounds were super.”
Eternity, a nine-year-old Belgian-bred Warmblood, is currently in her first year of hunter competition and is wasting no time in going straight to the top. Dotoli imported the mare from Belgium in January. “Ann thought the horse looked like a good prospect and she was certainly right,” said Wylde.
This weekend’s Devoucoux Hunter Prix used the elements of the popular and newly-designed Outside Course, which was installed last year to add dynamic course options to the hunter prix classes. Horses navigated hills, banks and some unique lines thanks to the design of the course built by Rian Beals of Saugerties, New York.
Wylde and Eternity topped a field of 39 and boasted the leading scores in both rounds. “Horses with as much quality as Eternity are rare, so I think she has big things ahead of her,” concluded Wylde. “She is a special animal.” With Saturday’s win, one big thing Eternity may be pointed toward is the Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final of HITS Championship Weekend this fall.
Qualifying for the year-end event is well underway and standings are available at HitsShows.com.
Kelly Wilson of Gladestone, New Jersey pocketed an 87 in the irons of Matthew Degrande’s Silvester in round one. They returned to score an 85 and finish second. Tallying the second-highest score of the first round, Santa Maspane of Eden, New York rode Kathryn Haefner, LLC’s Columbus to an 87.5 and returned to pick up an 85, which landed them in third overall.
Wilson also rode her own Star Street to fourth with scores of 86.5 and 85. Fifth went to Lexi Seldorff of Farmington, Connecticut on Stone Horse Farm, LLC’s Zilver Star with scores of 86 and 83.
$1,500 HITS Hunter Prix
Anna Pavlov placed in the money twice in the $1,500 HITS Hunter Prix over the weekend. In an effort to guarantee an appearance in the coveted HITS $250,000 Hunter Prix Final in September, she piloted Jan Golash’s Seymour to the win and also picked up sixth-place honors on her own Adelante.

Brendan Weiss of Southampton, Pennsylvania rode Kathy Weiss’ Piedmont to a pair of 82s and finished second. Tess Mahoney of Southhampton, New York and Twin Oaks Stables, Inc.’s Eye Spy earned a 75.5 in the first round and topped the second round with an 84 for third.
Rounding out the top five was Emily Keefe of Dover, Massachusetts on her own Boeing in fourth and Lena Rae Reeb of Weston, Connecticut aboard Jamie Ringel’s Private Ryan in fifth. Keefe pocketed an 80 and a 76.5, while Reeb earned a 76 and a 78, respectively.
