North Salem, NY – May 1, 2013 – The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows are proud to welcome the 2013 Rolex FEI World Cup Final winner, Beezie Madden, back to the United States. Her first competition will be the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows, held on May 7-12 and 14-19, 2013. In addition to Madden, local rider and Olympic gold medalist McLain Ward of Brewster, NY, will be at Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows. Ward placed fifth in this year’s World Cup Final. Come watch both riders as they return to the show ring on U.S. soil!
Not only can you watch the world’s best at Old Salem Farm, you can also be a part of a “Welcome Back” celebration on Sunday, May 12. The party will honor Madden, Ward, and all of the United States riders from the World Cup Final. We will honor Madden on her amazing achievement of winning for the United States, and fans will be able to meet her and other riders at an autograph signing following Sunday’s grand prix class.
Madden, one of only five women to have won the Rolex FEI World Cup Finals, is looking forward to showing at the Old Salem Spring Horse Shows. “We love the facility and the improvements they’ve done there. We always look forward to jumping on the grass field,” she described.
Madden also pointed out that the effort that Old Salem Farm puts into their events is appreciated by the riders. “We love being at a show where they try to make the show special, and it’s nice to have a show with personality!” she remarked.
Some of her mounts, such as Amadora, Vanilla, and Mademoiselle will compete during the first week, and her 2012 Olympic mount, Coral Reef Via Volo, will be aimed for the grand prix during the second week.
The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows, rated the #11 show in North America by the North American Riders Group, has a full schedule of fun events for exhibitors and spectators. General admission, set at $20.00 per car on Friday-Sunday, generates proceeds to support the Old Salem Farm Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
