The Winter Equestrian Festival By the Numbers

Monday, April 14 2014 by Editor
After competing in the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) this season for the first time, I was in awe of the caliber and quantity of competitors. Here is proof that it is truly a horse show like no other: statistics provided by: http://www.equestriansport.com/esp/pdf/   Flat classes in the 15 -17 equitation were always packed and often had to be split into two different groups

Horseback Riding Is Most Definitely a Sport

Saturday, February 08 2014 by Editor
By Kate Eagleton On more than one occasion, I’ve had someone say to me, “Horseback riding is not a sport. The horse does all the work.” WHAT?! I dedicate most of my life to riding and training, so this response makes my blood boil. Obviously, someone who says this has no experience with riding, but I can’t help getting a little worked up.
