have reached
the joint anddifficult conclusion that
they do not have a viablemodel for
merger in July. As a result, the fate of
theVirginia Intermont Collegeequestrian
program is unknown – this includes
the IHSA, IDA andANRC teams. The
Virginia Intermont CollegeEquestrian
Facebook pagehas posteda request for
financial help for the college’s 65 horses.
It states, “The issuenow is caring for
the horses until we can either transfer
the program to a new school or close
it if a new school can’t be found. To
accomplish thisweare now taskedwith
raising $100,000over the next fewweekswith every dime of it going to the feeding, shoeingandmedical careof theherd. At
themoment we have a plan that will accomplish this goal and allow for tax-deductibledonations.” Inaddition, the students have
set up a separate fundraiser tohelp finance participation in the upcomingANRC championshipswith any additional funds going
toward the upkeep of the school horses:
