Long Island University’s IHSA team has a new mascot! Suitably named Hope, the mascot is a 4-year-old Miniature mare who was rescued from the New Holland Auction. “One of our goals this season was to rescue a mini from the New Holland Livestock Auction, one of the largest slaughter auctions in the country. Our goal, aside from rescuing, is to get the word out about horse slaughter and the horrors of the auction,” said rider Christina Cepeda. The Sidelines staff is happy to help spread the world! Way to go, guys!
