My name is Jess Grutkowski, also known as @morningicepops on TikTok. You’re probably wondering what ice pops in the morning have to do with anything: As a mom of twins, you learn to pick your battles, and one of those happened to be giving in when they wanted ice pops for breakfast.
In 2017, I got back in the saddle after nearly two decades—and haven’t looked back. Since then, the three of us have bonded through our shared passion and supported each other through the highs and lows of our unique equestrian journeys.
My husband and I recently became empty nesters, and we’re excited for the girls’ next chapter at college. We can’t wait to cheer them on at NCEA and IHSA meets and hear about what interests them in the equestrian world. With my extra time, I’m excited to be contributing even more to Sidelines magazine.
Writing articles for Sidelines over the past three years has been a dream come true. Since my career in high-tech PR, I’ve owned a mobile coffee truck business, served two terms as PTA president, fundraised for local charities and served as managing editor for Fairfield Magazine. I’m a huge supporter of small businesses, especially woman-owned, and love helping brands with marketing and social media.
