Germany takes Team gold while Britain’s Dujardin breaks yet another World Record

Thursday, August 22 2013 by Editor
ECCO FEI EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 Herning (DEN), 22 August 2013 Germany claimed team gold for the 22nd time at the Blue Hors FEI European Dressage Championship in Herning, Denmark today. In a tense battle, it fell to reigning Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Champion, Helen Langehanenberg, to clinch it with her last-to-go ride.  And she did so with cool conviction when steering the brilliant Damon Hill to a score of 84.377 which gave her country a narrow advantage over the silver medallists from The Netherlands while the defending champions from Great Britain had to settle for bronze this time around. Just 1.111 points separated the three medal-winning nations in this super-tight battle of the giants

Beverley Widdowson (GBR), owner of the 10-year-old bay stallion Big Star ridden by Olympic team gold medallist Nick Skelton, has been awarded the prestigious title of FEI Owner of the Year for the second year running by the FEI and the Jumping Owners Club.   A year ago, Beverley Widdowson picked up the coveted owner’s prize with her 12-year-old grey gelding Carlo 273, ridden by Nick Skelton to double bronze at the FEI European Jumping Championships 2011 in Madrid (ESP), and which is now the new top horse of Sergio Alvarez Moya (ESP).   “To win this award for the second year running is an incredible feeling, and is testament to all the hard work of everyone on the team involved in the success of Big Star – I am over the moon,” said Beverley Widdowson.

Mutt of the Month – Tee

Wednesday, December 12 2012 by Editor
This gentle fellow walks well on leash, knows sit, down and has learned to crawl combat style. He loves to ride in the car and loves to have his ears rubbed. He is surprisingly low energy for a lab mix and would make a great walking companion or friend for an older dog in your home.

A funny thing happened to Victor Amaya while at a A funny thing happened to Victor Amaya while at a horse show in Europe in 2006. He happened upon coverage of the World Equestrian Games, and lo and behold--his younger brother Max was riding on TV!

Victor was impressed and astonished. The brothers grew up riding together in Argentina, but then pursued riding on different continents. They were both busy with their own horses, and this was before text messaging and social media made communication so simple.

Flash forward to the present, and the brothers are together again based out of Stonehenge Stables located in New Jersey and Florida. Not only are the Amayas part of their own family business, but as Max said regarding their clients, "We want to treat everyone like they're part of the family."
