The action kicked off with the overwhelmingly popular Sidelines Green Hunter 3′ and 3’3″ Divisions, which are offered for only $5, thanks to sponsor Sidelines Magazine! Twenty two horse and rider teams competed in the 3′ Division and eight in the 3’3″ Division. Tom Brennan and Olivia Falkenberry’s Notes from the Underground took the Championship in the 3’3″ Division and Julie Curtin of Woodstock, Georgia and Rebekah Warren’s Cassico were Reserve. HOUSTON, Texas (July 31, 2013) – Steeped in tradition and rich in history, the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show has lived its mission of helping children since 1945. The 68 th Pin Oak Charity Horse Show presented by Irish Day Farm was held during the last two weeks of March in 2013 and has yielded a record donation of $200,000 for its designated charities. Beneficiaries are Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston’s Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance.

WASHINGTON (June 13, 2013)—The U.S. House Appropriations Committee has voted to block funding for inspections at prospective horse slaughter plants, which if it survives the entire legislative process, would halt any effort to resume slaughter for these animals on U.S. soil.
