The Clydesdale, Shire, Percheron, and Suffolk Punch are among the most famous of the draft horse breeds. But did you know that all four of those breeds have contributed to a single draft horse? The Australian Draught Horse, bred for farm work during the 19 th century, is an embodiment of the positive characteristics of its four ancestral breeds.

On the weeks we don’t have competitions I plan to do a “Meet Our Members” post so you can get to know all of our members and today Brendan Quinn is featured! Brendan is the only boy on the team and has been a huge help to me! He is always willing to help me with getting things done for the team and takes on responsibilities. USEF Announces 2014 Developing Riders/Eventing 25 Participants

Lexington, KY- The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and its Eventing High Performance Department is proud to announce the participants for the 2014 Developing Riders/Eventing 25 Program. For the second year, a Developing Rider will be defined as a rider (25 and under) who has achieved a qualifying result at the CCI2* level.

Pulling a Shoe in an Emergency

If your horse wears shoes, then at some point you’ll probably discover that he’s removed one all on his own. But if you should discover your horse has only partially dislodged his shoe, you may need to take matters into your own hands if your farrier is not immediately available. Leaving a horse with a partially dislodged or a loose shoe can put him at risk of harming himself.
