Monday, May 20 2013
by Editor
Chances are you’ve heard that no matter what discipline you ride, schooling your horse in basic dressage can improve his performance in your chosen discipline. The emerging sport of western dressage builds on that idea, only western dressage takes it one step further by allowing western horses and riders to compete using western tack. What we think of as today’s Western riding has been in practice since the 1700’s, originating on ranches and in the practices of the Spanish vaqueros

Wednesday, May 08 2013

We all know the impact that horseback riding can have on a life, and many riders joke that their horses are their four-legged therapists. But in the world of therapeutic riding, the horses truly DO become therapists, and they accomplish incredible feats. Therapeutic riding first gained popularity in the 1950’s, with the first riding centers in North America opening in the 1960’s.

Chromospere – A Heart of Gold!
Tuesday, October 23 2012

Meet “Chromospere” a 6 year old, 15.3 1/2hh Thoroughbred gelding now available for adoption from our Marysville, Ohio facility! Chrome is an absolutely adorable gelding that will just melt your heart with his personality and his story of how he came to be with us. He is one of the unfortunate horses that were headed to auction and it took a village of people to rescue Chrome and 5 others from an undetermined fate. From the initial person who made phone calls to help the horses, to another party who put up the money for him, the foster home who gave him some needed down time and groceries, and then to our facility, he has had a long journey. Now is your chance to be the last stop in a long line of people trying to make a happy ending for this deserving horse. When watching his video you can see that he has a good, quiet work ethic. When the rider is quiet and steady with light contact, he begins to match his rider and settles into a quiet and steady rhythm of his own at both the trot and canter. The longer he works, the more relaxed he becomes and there will be more movement there once he is fit. He grew up at the upper level tracks so he knows how to work. Chrome does well with light contact and naturally wants to give to the bit.
