By Jan Westmark I love the Budweiser Clydesdales – especially their amazing Superbowl commercials. One thing that’s just a little better then the “you-need-a-Kleenex” Budweiser Clydesdales commercials, however, is seeing them in person! If you want to see the Budweiser Clydesdales in person and you live or are visiting the Western North Carolina mountains on April 29th, then you are in luck! The world-famous hitch will appear in the Landrum Parade on April 29th just a few days before the Blockhouse Steeplechase that takes place in Tryon, North Carolina

By Jan Westmark Tryon, North Carolina, is the “place to be” right now with the opening of the new Tryon International Equestrian Center. It’s a gorgeous facility and the show season is about to kick off. As the Editor of Sidelines/real estate broker, I spend a lot of time in Tryon (and nearby Lake Lure – another gorgeous place!) and last year Libbie Johnson took me on a great historic tour of Tryon and then wrote a story on Tryon for the April 2014 issue of Sidelines

Giddy Up! Two Careers and Lots of Beauty

By Jan Westmark I am excited about being a real estate broker in North Carolina and combining my two careers – Editor of Sidelines Magazine and selling houses and horse farms!! I’m excited because I work and live in one of the most beautiful places in the country — the Western North Carolina Mountains! The coolest part about Lake Lure and Tryon is that they are so close together. You can make it from the ring in Tryon to Lake Lure in under 20 minutes! And Asheville is just a short drive up the mountain.
