Gold Rush Fever comes to Wellington!

The Wild, Wild West returns for the second-annual Sidelines Equestrian Tetrathlon to benefit the Equestrian Aid Foundation on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Not your average competition, the Tetrathlon brings together world-class equestrians from dressage, show jumping, reining and polo to showcase their skill in another riding discipline. Join the fun and excitement as teams vie for the top prize, while guests savor great food, signature cocktails by Tito’s Hand made vodka, exciting auction experiences and surprise games of chance.

New for this year is the Super XLVI Saloon featuring its own bar and televisions, ensuring that no football-loving equestrian will miss a single play of the big game.

R. Bruce Duchossois, renown equestrian and member of the board of directors, will co-chair the event with the foundation’s president R. Scot Evans.

“This event is close to the heart for me,” Bruce said. “I want to be able to help people in an unfortunate situation and help provide them with hope and financial stability during their medical time-of-need. It is a great cause and through sponsorships and donations, we have been able to provide a sense of faith.”

Cowboy-chic guests will enjoy signature dishes from the best local restaurants, including the International Polo Club, Four Seasons Hotel, Oli’s Fashion Cuisine, The grille, White Horse tavern, as well as Pangea Grill, Taylor Made cafe and Field of Greens, Top Notch Catering and dessert by Christy’s New York Cheesecake.

The spirited evening will also feature the presentation of the inaugural Equestrian Aid Foundation Luminary Award to legendary horsewoman Jane Forbes Clark.

“The Luminary Award encompasses both passion for horse sport and commitment to the people who comprise it,” said R. Scot Evans, president of the Equestrian Aid Foundation. “Jane’s vision, enduring support and gracious contributions to the equestrian community is unprecedented and well deserving of the inaugural Luminary Award.”

Sarah B. Willeman, equestrian and owner of 2010 USEF Farnam/Platform Horse of Year reining quarter horse Gunners Special Night, will also receive special recognition. “Having known Sarah since her junior days in show jumping, it’s wonderful to witness the support she gives to the sport of reining as well as her enthusiasm to giving back to the equestrian community,” Evans said.

Individual tickets and table sponsorships can be purchased online through the website at www.equestrianaidfoundation.org or call 800.792.6068. For questions on sponsorships, email sponsorships@equestrianaidfoundation.org or call the 800 number.

The Equestrian Aid Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance for those in the horse community suffering from catastrophic illnesses and injuries. EAF recipients receive funding for medical, healthcare, rehabilitation and essential expenses – such as food and housing – throughout their time of need.
