Emerson Sego with Frosty

The amazing power of horses (and in this case a pony) is evident in the life of Emerson Sego, who was born with a very rare genetic disorder in which he is missing a portion of his 3rd chromosome. He’s 4 years old and deals with a great many physical and mental challenges in his life, but in spite of it all, he’s the gentlest little soul anyone could ever meet. His love for animals, especially horses and dogs, is profound. Emerson is non-verbal and uses sign language to communicate; one of the first signs he learned was “horse,” and whenever he gets the opportunity to ride Frosty the pony, he lights up with joy and excitement. He doesn’t need words to be able to express his love for the animals in his life. He gently kisses and pets them with all the love in his heart even though he cannot express it in words. Frosty the pony is 25 years old. She is also a gentle soul who has spent most of her life as a children’s school pony bringing joy and love into the hearts of many kids. Frosty is now retired at Klein Ranch, where Emerson is able to enjoy her whenever he visits his grandparents.
