Lexington, KY – August 20, 2012 – The 2012 Alltech National Horse Show, recognized as the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame Horse Show of the Year last year, returns to the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, on October 31 through November 4, 2012.
The Hunter Hall of Fame honors were the second major award issued to the Alltech National Horse Show last year. At their annual meeting, the North American Riders Group (NARG) recognized the Alltech National Horse Show as the highest rated horse show in the United States.
“We were very proud of our efforts last year and we were delighted that our hard work was recognized by both the Hunter Hall of Fame and by NARG,” said Mason Phelps, Jr. the President of the National Horse Show Association. “For 2012, we will build on that first year success.”
This year’s show will once again feature the nation’s finest hunters in competition with the most significant amount of prize money of any show in the country. This is all made possible by the generous supporters who have stepped forward to sponsor the various hunter divisions at the Alltech National Horse Show.
The popular High Performance Hunter division will again be sponsored by Pony Lane Farm and presented by the Thatcher Family.
In the two Conformation Hunter sections, it’s Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wheeler stepping forward to sponsor the Green Conformation Hunters, while Dr. Betsee Parker and Huntland have generously sponsored the Regular Conformation Hunters, presented by Dr. Betsee Parker.
The competitive First Year Green Working Hunters are sponsored by Goshen Hill and presented by Ms. Caroline Moran, while the Second Year Green Working Hunters are sponsored by Oare-Hill and presented by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Oare and Mrs. Patricia Adikes-Hill.
The kind sponsors in the always spirited Amateur Owner Hunters are Bruce Duchossois and H ‘N D Stables for the 35 and under section and Suzanne Thoben Marquard presenting the section for rider over 35 years of age. The 3’3″ Amateur Owner Hunters and sponsored and presented by Jennifer Burger and Meredith Lipke.
The Small Juniors, 15 and Under are sponsored by Missy Luczak-Smith and presented by Missy Luczak-Smith and Doug Smith while The Moyer Family is sponsoring and presenting the Small Juniors 16-17.

“The National Horse Show has for generations of horsemen, offered a special event for exhibitors from all sections of the country and Canada,” said Walter J. Lee, the President of the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame during the Horse Show of the Year presentation. “The National has always been a goal for so many owners and riders to reach. I have been a champion at The National, and that has been, still is and always will be, a great achievement and something that I am very proud of and will always cherish and remember.”
The 2012 Alltech National Horse Show takes center stage on October 30 through November 4, 2012 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. In addition to the top rated hunters and the ASPCA Maclay National Championship, the show features world-class international, open, junior and amateur-owner jumpers competing for the biggest prize money on the United States indoor tour.
Founded in 1883 at the original Madison Square Garden, the National Horse Show is America’s oldest indoor horse show, firmly established as a major fixture on the national and international sports and social event calendars. The National Horse Show Association’s primary activity is the annual production of the National Horse Show and all ancillary events.
