Ballston Spa, NY— Are you a horse owner interested in the nutritional value of the hay you are feeding your horse? Is the definition of “good hay” confusing to you? On Thursday, January 9th,2014 from 6:30-8:30 pm, Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties, will host guest speaker, Paul Sirois, director of Forage Laboratory Services from Equi-Analytical laboratories, for a hay nutritional analysis workshop.
Join us to learn more about the nutritional value of different types of hay for your horse. Our guest speaker Paul Sirois holds degrees in animal science from Rutgers University and the University of Minnesota, has worked as a nutritionist, and is currently the Director of Forage Laboratory Services for Equi-Analytical Laboratories.
During this workshop participants will physically analyze bales of hay, learn to recognize a quality bale of hay and gain an understanding of forage analysis testing for feed quality.
The cost of the workshop is $10.00; registration begins at 6:00pm. This seminar will be held at the Saratoga County Cornell Cooperative Extension office located at 50 West High Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
