Schleese is proud to announce the inclusion of our Director of Corporate Affairs and co-founder of the company Sabine Schleese on the prestigious 16th annual W100 ranking of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs, produced by PROFIT, Canadian Business and Chatelaine. This is the 10th year that Sabine has been on the list, coming in at #98 for the 2013/2014 fiscal year.
Ranking Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs on a composite score based on the size, growth rate and profitability of their businesses, the W100 profiles the country’s most successful female business owners. Published in the October issue of Canadian Business, the November issue of Chatelaine and online at PROFITguide.com and chatelaine.com, the W100 is Canada’s largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial achievement by women.
This year’s W100 represent the absolute best of Canada’s business community,” said James Cowan, Editor-in-chief of Canadian Business and PROFIT. “Female entrepreneurs are too often stereotyped as ‘mompreneurs’ pursuing part-time hobby businesses. But the W100 demonstrate just how vital they are to driving innovation and growth in the Canadian economy.
Sabine Schleese has a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Guelph and an MBA from Queen’s University. She has also recently completed a course in Equine Behaviour offered through the University of Guelph’s Equine Sciences Diploma. Her educational articles are regularly featured in a number of equine publications across the US and Canada.
In the past Schleese has been twice featured on Discovery Channel (Harrowsmith Country Life and How it’s Made) and on the front page of the Wall Street Journal Marketplace section, recognized for its innovations. The company was named “Best of the Best Manufacturer of the Year 2008” by Tack ‘n’ Togs magazine and has been the recipient of many other business and industry awards over the 28 years the company has been operating in North America. Schleese continues to grow not only as the largest North American manufacturer with a network of saddle fit technicians, but also through expanding its ‘product line’ to include ongoing Saddlefit 4 Life education and training for riders and equine professionals all over the world. This increased diversification positions Schleese as a global leader providing industry education to improve the health and well- being of horses and riders worldwide.
