DUBLIN, Ireland – 26 November 2012 – Tredstep Ireland wants riders to know that what you wear under your boots can be a competitive advantage. To prove it, the company puts as much emphasis on the design and attention to detail in every pair of their socks, as they do in their best-selling Renaissance Collection of boots. As riders themselves, Tredstep designers know that socks that slip, bunch or leave a rider’s feet and legs clammy and uncomfortable can distract from a great ride, whether schooling or competing.
“We understand how uncomfortable the wrong sock can feel under a boot,” said Aidan Keogh, Tredstep Managing Director. “So we’ve designed a collection of riding socks with unique features and with great attention to fit. Each style is made with a combination of the best natural and technical fabrics possible for unmatched comfort and performance.”
The Tredstep sock collection is comprised of four styles including:
- Tredstep Pure Ultra Cool socks are made of Pearl Cotton, a 100% natural fiber that is mercerized, or heat-treated, to strengthen the fibers and make them finer and silk-like in feel. Combined with Lycra for a snug fit that won’t bunch, Pure Ultra Cool socks also wick moisture to keep the rider dry and comfortable, regardless of the temperature. They are available in three colors: black, smoke blue and purple.
- Tredstep’s Pure Air Cool socks are anatomically designed to fit the contours of a rider’s leg perfectly. They are made of Pearl Cotton in a unique pique weave that allows for added air-flow from the foot up through the leg. The heel and foot feature Dryan, the next generation of the revolutionary CoolMax material that provides wicking and added cushioning for all-day comfort. They are available in black, grey and red.
- The high-performance Sheer Cool socks also combine Pearl Cotton with Dryan for all day comfort. Anatomically engineered for the highest performance possible, they feature ribbed flexible padding to reduce foot fatigue and reinforced elastic support in critical flexion areas of the foot such as the instep, Achilles, arch and ankle. They are available in black/grey, grey/blue and red/purple.
- Tredstep’s Buzzby socks, specially designed for children, feature the company mascot who is hard at work trying different sports to see which suits him best. These socks are made of the same high-quality Pearl Cotton and come in dark pink, purple, yellow, blue, light pink and green.
All Tredstep socks feature a black cuff at the top – so that should the sock be pulled too high, no color will show above the rider’s boot and distract from the rider’s leg. The socks are available at fine equestrian retailers. Find the one closest to you by visiting www.tredstep.com.
About Tredstep Ireland
In 1993, Irish entrepreneur and Three-Day Event rider Aidan Keogh saw the need for a better half chap, and set out to create his own. A former design student who studied fine arts, Keogh believed that he could improve the comfort, performance and aesthetics of riding wear, while respecting the traditions of a Centuries-old sport. His product eventually redefined the market and brought half-chaps to the mainstream where they are now standard equipment for every rider. Along the way he created Tredstep Ireland, a company driving innovation, but ever respectful of the traditional roots of equestrian sport.
Tredstep now offers a complete collection of chaps, boots, gloves and accessories including the newly released Raphael tall boot, part of their superior Renaissance Collection, all designed to make the riding experience more enjoyable.
