I
n February 2014, the United States Equestrian
Federation (USEF) appointed Silvio Mazzoni as the
eventing Show Jumping Coach for the Land Rover
Eventing Team and the training-listed riders. The Alltech
FEI World EquestrianGames take place inNormandy this
year and hopes ride high for the United States three-day
team, especially with its new program to develop our best
riders to be competitive on the international stage.
“Silvio is a very, very good rider, a very good horseman, and
he brings good things for the riders so we’re very excited,” said
David O’Connor, current Eventing Chef d’Equipe, former USEF
President (2004-2012), and individual gold and team bronze
Olympic medalist (2000). “I knew about him, because he has
workedwithevent riders inNorthernVirginia, but hadnotmet him
beforehebecameour eventing show jumping coach.We’vebeen
working together thisspringandwehopewehavegood things for
the future.”

There’s no doubt that Silvio has the right combination of
experience. He grew up in Argentina and, as a junior, trained
with some of the country’s best horsemen. He competed in his
first Grand Prix at age 18. His success and skill with the jumpers
resulted in Silvio training and showing for the largest breeding
farm in Argentina. His success in the jumper ring and his strong
dressage skills resulted in Silvio representing Argentina on its
three-day eventing team for the 1998 World Championships
(WEG) inRome.
In 2002, Silvio relocated to the United States with two horses,
which he showed as high level jumpers and in Grand Prix. In
2008 he startedKR Inc. inMiddleburg, Virginia. Silvio specializes
in showing, sales and training riders and horses in hunters and
jumpers fromBabyGreen toGrandPrix. Silvio is also verymuch
in demand as a show jumping coach for event riders and he
recently expanded to Ocala, Florida, where many event riders
spend thewinter.
