At Kentucky Horse Park, the first day of Dressage at Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event is underway – 75 horses are scheduled to dance down the centerline today and Friday. At the first veterinary inspection on Wednesday, riders from 9 nations — the USA, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany presented their horses to the ground jury. Rolex Kentucky offers $300,000 in prize money — $100,000 to the winner! — and the coveted Rolex watch.

Sometimes half the fun is getting there. Sincere thanks to Sharon White for the ride from her Last Frontier Farm to Kentucky Horse Park – you’re a 4* star and we wish you and Wundermaske the best of luck this week! Staying in the KHP Campground for the second year required a pleasant hour or so bench-warming after Sharon dropped us off at the Campground Store. She had to be at the horse park in order to join the other Rolex riders — Allison Springer, Liz Halliday-Sharp, Will Coleman — and Kentucky Reining Cup rider Lyndsey, from nearby Georgetown, who happens to be a two-time National Reining Horse Association World Champion.
