MALVERN, Pa.—An enthusiastic crowd of 235 enjoyed cocktails, dinner, a live auction and dancing to the band Sugarfoot Farm during the Black Tie and Boots Ball at Bryn Clovis, Brushwood Farm in Malvern on Saturday, May 5.

The Ball benefits the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, and the live auction alone raised over $16,000.

Wells Fargo is the Presenting Sponsor of Devon, and its signature stagecoach was situated on the lawn adjacent to the brightly lit and decorated tent, with many of the guests taking advantage of that to have their pictures taken standing beside it.

Following cocktails and hors d’oeuvres enjoyed on the lawn overlooking the hills and paddocks holding thoroughbreds owned by Betty Moran’s Brushwood Stable, guests moved into the tent for the live auction called by Samuel T. Freeman & Co.

The cruise for two on HollandAmerica, donated by Cruisin and Main Line Vacations, was auctioned for $2,300.

The Flyers package, which included a VIP suite at theWellsFargoCenterinPhiladelphia, a ride on the Zamboni and a signed jersey, donated by Wells Fargo, was sold for $1,600.

Mrs. Moran and George Corrigan, Sr. led off the dancing to the band that features Corrigan’s son, “GT” and Jim Unger. The guests obviously loved the music as the dance floor was crowded all evening and still full when the party ended at 11 p.m., the hour mandated by village ordinance.

Dinner was catered by Jimmy Duffy Catering, and the tent décor was courtesy of Sunshine Lanscapes. In addition to the presenting sponsor Wells Fargo and Lufthansa, Pepsi Bottling and Penn Distributors also sponsored the Black Tie and Boots Ball.
