LEESBURG, Va. – Morven Park’s fall Horse Trials has long been a favorite annual stop for the nation’s top riders, many of whom live within a few hours’ drive from this Northern Virginia icon.
This year will be no exception, as the Horse Trials draw more than 350 horse/rider combinations over the weekend of Oct. 4-6, one of the most spectacular times of year at what is already a stunning setting.
For the second consecutive year, Morven Park hosts the USEA Area II Championships during the Horse Trials, encompassing eventers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Riders will compete in all six levels, from beginner novice to advanced.
The event will include an advanced combined test, which is expected to draw top American riders who will take this opportunity to prep for the competition in Pau, France, at the end of October, one of the world’s six CCI 4-Star events … the pinnacle of the sport of eventing. In other words, spectators will have a chance to watch the best of the best, competing for the Championship at Morven Park. There is no charge to spectators.
Owners and riders also are invited to a dinner at Morven Park on the second day of the event, Saturday, October 5. For details, please contact Sheryl Williams at swilliams@morvenpark.org or 703-777-2890.
