Dr. Hannah Dodson & Leadline Wellness: Leading Others to Better Lives

By Britney Grover

Dr. Hannah Dodson has devoted her life to helping others as a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. But after facing major life challenges of her own and experiencing the healing power of horses along the way, she decided to integrate horses into a new type of healing practice and founded Leadline Wellness.

Hannah lives in Research Triangle, North Carolina, where she enjoys riding with her daughter and is passionately helping as many people as possible learn to thrive in their lives mentally, physically and emotionally.

How did you become part of the horse world?

Horses are in my blood—I’m a fourth-generation equestrian with a rich family legacy. My great-grandfather was a champion sulky rider, and my father has a deep passion for horse breeding and training. I started riding as a child, paused for a number of years and then reignited my passion as an adult, sharing the journey with my daughter. Together, we’ve made amazing memories riding and showing over the years, and we still saddle up every chance we get. At the heart of it all is Jack, our incredible gelding and the soul of our farm.

When did you start your company and what gave you the idea?

Leadline Wellness was created in 2022 in response to the rising need for genuine connection and integrative support in an increasingly isolated world. As a clinician, I’ve witnessed the struggles many face with complex conditions and the lack of comprehensive care. For my daughter and I, it was through riding together and owning a horse that we truly experienced the transformative power of equine interaction. Inspired by this journey, we are dedicated to offering this healing experience to others, empowering them to unlock their full wellness potential.

How did you get the name Leadline Wellness?

“Leadline” is inspired by the strong bond between a novice and an expert, representing mentorship and support. Our name embodies our mission to provide more than just guidance—it’s about delivering transformative wellness. We’re dedicated to empowering the equestrian community, helping individuals thrive in both their personal well-being and professional success.

What part does your company play in the horse world?

Our goal is to share the transformative power of equine interaction with a wider audience, including those who have never had the chance to connect with these magnificent animals.

What is the best part about being a woman entrepreneur?

The ability to tap into the unique strength and nurturing energy of being a woman, creating a lasting impact, fostering meaningful connections and uplifting others throughout the journey.

What challenges do you face?

The challenges involve navigating a niche market, juggling multiple responsibilities and keeping the business aligned with ever-evolving industry trends.

What great things have happened because of your business?

Through my business, I’ve had the honor of positively impacting many lives, inspiring individuals to embrace wellness and personal growth. We’ve helped people connect more deeply with themselves and their horses, fostering a sense of well-being and fulfillment. Additionally, it’s been incredibly rewarding to create a supportive network where people can share their journeys and uplift one another. The connections and transformations I’ve witnessed have been nothing short of inspiring!

What are your goals for yourself and your business?

My goal is to keep growing, both personally and professionally, while expanding my reach to help even more people experience the life-changing power of equine wellness. I’m passionate about strengthening connections within the equestrian community and rolling out fresh, exciting programs that support both horses and riders. For the business, I’m focused on building a vibrant, thriving network where individuals can find the tools, guidance and support they need to truly flourish—leaving a lasting impact on the lives we touch.

What advice would you give to other women considering entrepreneurship?

Pursue your passion, keep pushing forward, and embrace strength and resilience when challenges come your way.

What’s the best thing about your life?

I’m truly blessed to have an amazing family and to share this dream with my beautiful daughter. Continuing the family legacy of celebrating and nurturing the equine partnership is incredibly exciting!

What’s the best-kept secret about what you do?

The real magic happens when you help and support others on their journey—there’s no greater reward than that.
