Extreme elasticity in all three gaits and astonishingly skillful jumping ability combined with strength and powerful breeding qualities have defined Carrico as a top sport horse and producer as this Catoki son passes these attributes on to his offspring. He was premium stallion at the Holsteiner Approvals and won his 30 day test in 2006 with a score of 8.77. The following year he won the 70 day test in Redefin with an overall average score of 136.98, along with both the individual dressage index of 131.76 and the jumping index of 141.37. In superior manner he achieved the highest score of 9.6 at the first qualifying round for the 5 year old National Young Horse Championships. In 2009 ridden by Philip Weishaupt, Carrico qualified at first go for the 6 year old championships and achieved the highest scores in all three rounds and was the highest ranked horse of the Championship. He finished tenth overall after an unlucky fault in the final jump-off. Carrico has now become firmly established in upper level, international show jumping after placing in Dortmund, Hagen a.T.W., Chantilly/FRA, Münster, Paderborn and Neumünster under Philipp Weishaupt and Henrik von Eckermann/SWE.
During the summer of 2014, Carrico was imported into the United States. He successfully competed in USHJA International Hunter Derbies and the Amateur Owner hunter divisions with rider/owner Callie Seaman. Some highlights of Carrico’s hunter career included a top 15 finish at the 2014 USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals, 2nd place in the $50,000 Hunter Derby at the 2014 Hampton Classic, and 5th place in the $100,000 WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular during the 2016 Winter Equestrian Festival.
