Stable View FEI CCI-S 2/3/4* & USEF/USEA H.T. Day Two Report

Stable View FEI CCI-S 2/3/4* & USEF/USEA H.T.

Day Two Report

WITH GRATITUDE TO SPONSORS AIRLITE BEDDING, BANIXX, CAPALL PULSE THERAPY, FITS RIDING, THE MANE MONOGRAM, PURVIDA HEALTHY HORSE, AND VTO SADDLERY

AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA, APRIL 2, 2022—Another sunny day for the Stable View Spring FEI CCI-S 2*/3*/4* and USEF/USEA Horse Trials concluded on Saturday with the 4*/3*/2*, Advanced, and Intermediate competitors completing the cross country portion of the weekend on the Mark Phillips-designed course, which included “Stable View Village,” a collections of new, signature jumps. Across three rings this morning, Preliminary, Modified, and Training levels started the weekend with Dressage on the refurbished Attwood Equestrian Surfaces arenas featuring GGT-Footing. And the Chris Barnard-designed Show Jumping continued with 2*, Intermediate, Preliminary, and Modified levels under the clear, blue sky.

This three-phase event is Aiken’s first 4* of the year to combine both national and international level talent—and exhilarating opportunity for riders at Training level and higher to compete in an atmosphere with their internationally shown peers. With that in mind, and also for the first time, Stable View devoted areas at the perimeter of its LEED Gold-certified Pavilion for spectators to follow the action by tailgate. From the comfort and convenience of one’s own dedicated viewing spot, attendees gathered with family and friends and cheered riders on, all while picnic’ing course-side. This will be repeated at Oktoberfest this fall and will become a regular spectator advantage of these two festivities.

Next year, this Spring 4* event will fall back a week, incentivizing 5* riders—who intend to compete at Kentucky—a three-weeks-prior training opportunity. In 2023, this will also benefit those preparing their fall competition and training calendar: Stable View’s Oktoberfest will drop back a week to give riders a 4* horse trial three weeks prior to Fair Hill. In summary, as a result of the USEF Pathway Program, Stable View was awarded the new spring and fall dates to occur three weeks prior to the most prestigious events in US Eventing—Kentucky and Fair Hill, respectively—and it is a responsibility Stable View takes very seriously. Stable View has come a long way since it ran its inaugural H.T. with 127 entries in 2014!

ABOUT STABLE VIEW

Sprawling over 1,000 acres of gently rolling hills bordered by canopies of forest, Stable View preserves a vital ecosystem and cultivates a sense of community among those who have discovered the many ways to enjoy it. Therefore, Stable View has become “a gathering place” for its broad appeal—an inspiring backdrop for equestrian athletes, nature lovers, and professional or recreational retreats—connecting a growing town uniquely situated at the intersection of economic development and rural legacy. Stable View is the proud recipient of the “Land Stewardship Award” presented by the Southeast Regional Land Conservancy, is a LEED Gold Certified member for it’s world-class Pavilion, and is a USEF Elite Training Center for its high performance training facilities.
