The International Polo Club Palm Beach is the premier polo destination in the world, hosting the largest field of high-goal teams and the most prestigious polo tournaments in the United States. Union Hill Polo Club, built and developed by Steenlage Farms, LLC, is the newest addition to the Atlanta polo community. With the opening of their field in 2013, UHP is the only club in Georgia that has both a full size arena and field, allowing polo to be played year round. Their goal is to create a polo club that welcomes players of varying abilities who are interested in playing competitive polo while improving their skill set. In addition, they have an ever-expanding list of social events at the club to enhance the Union Hill Polo experience. Located just outside Atlanta, they were just chosen to provide the horses for a music video for Full Court Press featuring hip hop artist T-Pain and NBA basketball champion Shawn Marion (pictured) being shot at a local high school. The video has a cameo appearance by polo player Kerstie Allen as one of the “Champions”!
The 4th Annual Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships: Horses and Horsepower takes place October 25th and 26th at WestWorld in Scottsdale. Ticketing information is available at www.thepoloparty.com. The Saturday lineup features the top women’s team in the world featuring professional female polo players Sunny Hale, Sarah Wiseman and Paola Martinez. They will take on the reigning event champions, the Clogau Wales Polo Team, which plays with Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry, in a “Battle of the Sexes” match. An All-Star match between Saturday’s top players will take place alongside the USPA Governor’s Cup on Sunday, October 26, commemorating the United States Polo Association’s decision to hold its prestigious annual meeting in conjunction with this year’s event. Sunday’s action will feature Julio Arellano and Patrick Uretz.
