Washington, D.C. – Emanuel Andrade of Venezuela is proving to be a fierce competitor in show jumping arenas throughout North America.  The 16-year-old claimed the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Reserve Championship title at the CSI3*-W Washington International Horse Show held in Washington, D.C., from October 23 to 28, 2012.

Andrade captured his most recent title riding Casanova Junior, a 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding.  The pair jumped double clear in the fastest time to top a 23-horse starting field and win the $2,500 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper class on Friday, October 26, with Andrade also finishing eighth riding Mikos.  Andrade and Casanova Junior cemented their Reserve Championship title by capturing second place in the $5,000 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic on Saturday, October 27, putting in one of five double clear performances from the field of 22.

Andrade also contested the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper division, finishing eighth aboard Costa, a 13-year-old Holsteiner mare, in the $5,000 class on Thursday, October 25, and sixth in another $5,000 class on Friday, October 26, with Tiny Tim, a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding.

In addition to competing at the Washington International Horse Show, Hollow Creek Farm sponsored Thursday night’s $20,000 International Open Jumper Gambler’s Choice Costume Class.  A crowd favorite, riders compete in full costume.  Dressed as Catwoman, 18-year-old Reed Kessler riding Ligist was presented as the winner by Andrade and Andrea King representing Hollow Creek Farm.

Just two weeks before the Washington International Horse Show, Andrade captured second, fourth, seventh and eighth in the $5,000 Harvest Classic Derby during the Harvest Classic in Aiken, South Carolina, where he also finished second in the Taylor Harris Medal with Si Como No.

These impressive results are the latest in a long line of successes for the young Venezuelan, who burst onto the U.S. show jumping scene during the 2012 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, winning six Championship and 12 Reserve Championship titles.  He has since captured an additional 12 Championship and Reserve Championship titles at various show jumping competitions including the Kentucky Spring Classic, the Atlanta Summer Classic, and the prestigious Hampton Classic Horse Show.

A full-time student in his hometown of Caracas, Andrade divides his time between competing in Venezuela and in the United States.  He trains with Angel Karolyi, a member of the Venezuelan gold medal team at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games, and renowned horsewoman Andrea King, at Hollow Creek Farms in Aiken, South Carolina.  For more information on Hollow Creek Farm, a large training business focusing on both horses and riders, please visit www.hollowcreekfarms.com.
