West Palms Events is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Michael Nyuis Scholarship. The Michael Nyuis Scholarship was created through West Palms Events to offer recipients the resources to further their training and equestrian education through horse showing. It is named in the memory of West Palms Events’ Dale Harvey’s nephew, who always helped others whenever he had the chance.
The scholarship gives five younger riders the opportunity to attend a variety of high-level equestrian competitions throughout the show season. These riders will be chosen by the West Palms Events selection committee based on their commitment to, love for and dedication to the sport. These scholarships are intended for riders who have the passion and drive to compete, but lack the financial resources to do so consistently throughout the year.
The Michael Nyuis Scholarship offers $6,500 dollars in horse show credit, to be used at all West Palms Events’ horse shows, except Del Mar National and the LA Masters. The applications are open now through January 15, 2016 and the winning recipients will be announced on February 15, 2015.

This year’s selection committee will be made up of three important lifetime contributors to equestrian sport: Dale Harvey, West Palms Events Show Manager; and renowned trainers, coaches and competitors Hope Glynn, of Sonoma Valley Stables and Archie Cox, ofBrookway Stables.

Five Scholarship opportunities are offered in 2016: One to a Canadian rider; three to United States riders and one to the winner of the 2016 Onondarka Medal Finals, Natalie Templeton.

To be considered for the scholarship, riders must fall under the following criteria:
  • Age 16-25 at the time of application
  • Must show commitment to the sport
  • Must show interest in potentially pursuing a career as a professional in the equestrian industry
All applications will be submitted through electronic forms through our website, find them by clicking here!
