Flexible, the Grand Prix Jumper stallion, owners choose Carol Ives to head breeding effort.
Harry and Mollie Chapman, owners of Flexible (ISH) the popular Grand Prix jumper have announced they have brought aboard Carol Ives, well known sport horse woman to guide Flexible’s breeding career. Mrs. Ives is owner of Ideal (Oldenburg) a successful breeding stallion in his own right with over 500 breedings to his credit. Carol also has operated a teaching, training and sales marketing company for the past twenty years at Lake Oswego.
Mr. Chapman said, “The demand for breeding to Flexible grows proportionally with the wins Flexible has had with Rich Fellers showing him and getting all those wins!”
Taking into consideration Flexible’s Grand Prix ranking and his bloodlines, his Sire being Cruising, it is understandable there is demand for breeding. Given our itinerary and Flexible’s arduous show schedule, Mollie and I realized we needed a professional for this. We asked Lisa Metcalf, MS DVM Diplomate, our reproductive vet, to recommend someone. Lisa told us you need someone like Carol Ives who has such a sterling reputation in the field and is right here in the Portland area.” Chapman approached Carol she told him she had been following Flexible’s career, thought a great deal of Rich Fellers and would be pleased to join the team. Mr. Chapman said, “We were delighted Carol said yes. Since we travel with Flexible, we need someone we can count on and Carol is known to breeders for her follow through and knowledge of the sport horse world.”
Carol Ives is proprietor of Sporthorse Marketing Internationale and is orchestrating a marketing campaign for the Chapman’s, which includes consulting on strategies, producing and distributing a Stallion video, creating a website, designing magazine ads and will handle communications which includes telephone inquires (503 638 7716) and e-mail correspondence.
