Wellington, FL- May 18, 2012- The Lionshare Farm team put in solid performances with great prizes throughout the first week at Old Salem.
Matti Fisher, who has been riding with Peter Leone and the LIonshare Farm team since 2005, won first place honors in the USEF Adult Equitation 3’3″ riding her own Peter Pan.
“I’ve had Peter Pan for so long that he’s just kind of like my old pair of sneakers. He’s so comfortable and awesome,” shared Fisher.
Fisher and Peter Pan also earned respectable ribbons in the 18-35 Amateur Owners and in the Handy Class of the Performance Hunters.
Fisher recently added the jumpers to her riding repertoire. The FTI Winter Equestrian Festival
marked her first circuit foray into the jumper ring. She commented on her jumper, Sans Souci. “My jumper is really a much hotter horse than I’ve ever experienced. I’m not really used to having an engine behind me. That’s been hard to get used to. I’m not used to actually getting a full reaction when I ask for something. All my experiences have been with hunters and equitation horses that are dead quiet.”
Katherine Bundy and Luciano and Elizabeth Benson and Lionshare Farm’s Cadillac Z demonstrated their classic technique to place them in second and third respectively in the 3’6″ Marshall and Sterling Junior Medal.
Isabella Russekoff repeated her previous week’s Garden State Small Pony Hunter Championship at Old Salem with her own Rico Suave. The pair continually confirms their hard work, performing solid and consistent brilliance in the show ring. Russekoff also showed Rose Hill Farm’s Hallelujah in the Larges to earn several respectable ribbons.
Lionshare Farms Anisette was ridden to championship honors in the Green Pony Hunter Division by Ali Tritschler. Tritschler, who rides with Jill Shulman, has an impressive show record and proved an ideal match for Anisette.
Peter Leone performed well with My Pleasure in the Seven and Eight Year Old Young Jumpers with a second place finish in the 1.40 and a 5th place in the 1.30m qualifier. Leone’s My Pleasure is a chestnut Belgian Warmblood stallion. The team won the Seven and Eight Year Old Young Jumpers the previous week at Garden State.
