The Dressage Foundation (TDF) has announced the officers and members of the Board of Directors who will serve in 2014.  In addition to returning board members, TDF extends a special welcome to new board members Lendon Gray and Carol Lavell.  “The Board of Directors of TDF is so pleased to have Carol Lavell and Lendon Gray join us. Carol and Lendon have been to the very top of this game, and they got to the top from the very bottom, so they have a comprehensive understanding of this sport of dressage that we all love. We already feel the effects of their enthusiasm and helpful ideas,” said Beth Baumert, President & CEO.

It looks like Gary Yeager has what it takes to win the ShowChic Turnout at the Nations Cup. Congratulations to natty Gary who handled Zerbino Interago to win the Nations Cup jog turnout. It looks like his purple suede driving mocs sealed the deal!

offcenterline1Way to go Kathleen! The Dressage Foundation awarded Kathleen Raine with a Carol Lavell Advanced Dressage Prize, in the amount of $25,000. Kathleen and her husband, David Wightman, are owners of Adventure Farms in Murrieta, California. They purchased her current mount, Breanna, as a four-year-old at the 2004 Elite Auction in Verden, Germany.  Since that time, Kathleen and Breanna have garnered many wins and awards, and they are currently ranked 8th on the USEF Dressage High Performance Grand Prix list.  In 2013, the pair placed third at the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions, second in the team competition at the CDI 3* in Hickstead, England, third in the Grand Prix Freestyle at Hickstead, and third in the Grand Prix Special at the CDI 4* in Lingen, Germany. Kathleen and Breanna will also use the funds to travel to Germany to train with Johann Hinnemann.   Photo by Sheryl Ross

offcenterline2Congratulations to Brian Hafner! The Dressage Foundation is pleased to announce that two Carol Lavell Advanced Dressage Prizes, in the amount of $25,000 each, have been awarded to U.S. High Performance riders. Brian is based in Sonoma, California, where he is the head trainer and owner of Brian Hafner Dressage. Brian and his horse, Lombardo, have earned their bronze, silver, and gold USDF medals as well as triple medals at the 2009 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships.  In 2010, Brian was selected to participate in The Dressage Foundation’s Young Rider International Dream Program as one of the United States’ top young riders.  Brian and Lombardo then went on to win the Brentina Cup Championship in 2012 and finished in the top six at the 2013 USEF National Championships in Grand Prix.  Brian plans to use the prize money to train with Johann Hinnemann in Germany.
