The Santa Fe Summer Series proudly announces the $5,000 Unser Ride-and-Drive Mini Cooper Challenge sponsored by Sandia Mini Cooper! (Photo courtesy of Equicenter de Santa Fe) The atmosphere at the Equicenter will be electric during this Santa Fe Summer Series special class exclusive! This fast-paced, exciting and unique class — open to professionals, juniors and amateurs — is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Check it out! Riders will complete a course of jumps set at 1.20m on horseback, then hand their equines off to a handler and complete a set of obstacles on foot, heading toward a waiting Sandia Mini-Cooper. These Sandia Mini’s won’t be piloted by just any drivers — esteemed Indy drivers will be behind the wheel — including 2-time Indianapolis 500 winner, Al Unser, and 8-time Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and Indy Car’s Rookie of the Year, Robby Unser! Equestrian competitors will continue the car course, paired with these incredible drivers and the team boasting the fastest time and least faults will prevail as our winner! Both our acclaimed Grand Prix equestrians and these world-famous Indy Drivers will be available for autographs and selfies following the competition!
