RPC Jerseys were worn by Meghan Judge, Erik Wright and Jim Wright in the Founders Day arena tournament at the Horse Park Polo Club in San Francisco

Catching up:  Matt Coppola tells us he was one of four boys invited toChina to represent theUS in a polo tournament the first week of October.  We want photos, Matt!

Poway polo players Cary Burch and Todd Randall teamed up at their hometown rodeo Saturday night in the “calf dressing” competition….they beat out professional polo player Shane Rice and his uncle, as well as fellow Poway Polo teammates Scott Boggess and David Teater.

Polo America Expo in Vegas featured a battle of the sexes game as well as the 2011 US Arena Open Championship… wish we’d been there.  Were you?

Sheryl Clark is back inCalifornia and loving it – and so is herBengal cat, Kilimanjaro.  “He loves to ride in the car,” Sheryl says.  “He goes to polo matches, the beach, on walks, etc.  This morning he was playing outside (the cats are allowed out for about an hour or so when I am home).  I was working on the computer when I received a call from my friend and neighbor, Vanessa Joe.  She was on her way to a doctor’s appointment and discovered that Kilimanjaro had jumped into an open window of her car and was accompanying her on the ride!  I could hear him in the background, crowing about this clever achievement!  Here I was worried that he would run in the street when a car was driving by – it never occurred to me that he might become a carjacker!

Del Walton and fiancé Tessa Lord are expecting their second child:  girl or boy?  Gotta ask.

Club News:  Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 18, when Windsor Florida’s polo field will be the site of the Charity Polo Cup at Windsor, an exciting and glamorous charity polo match featuring top international players and celebrities including John Walsh, host of television’s America’s Most Wanted and renowned Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo and the Honorable Hilary Weston, Windsor co-founder and resident will be the honorary co-chairs.  Proceeds from this charity event will directly benefit three such worthy causes including The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County and Saint Edward’s School Financial Aid Fund.

Sidelined:  Bob Jornayvaz who plays with both Columbine and Aspen broke his leg in a game.  We wish him a speedy recovery.  Leo Benjamin just can’t seem to stay out of trouble:  he broke his hip recently, and then of course there was a bit of, um, major flooding inVermont that kept both Nancy and him rather busy. Nancy tells us he’s ready to get back in the saddle.  Unstoppable, is our Leo!
