Fantastic Weekend for JustWorld International in France

Fontainebleau and Chantilly, France – JustWorld International’s European supporters helped raise 5,500€ during the European Pony Championship held July 15 to 22 in Fontainebleau, France, and the CSI5* Jumping Chantilly held July 19 to 22 in Chantilly, France, for the not-for-profit, humanitarian organization, which works as a catalyst for positive change in the developing world by helping impoverished children.  The fundraising efforts marked the official JustWorld International re-launch in Europe.

Fundraising co-ordinator Tess Nooren helped by Andrea Gamboa and Sacha Bianovici had their work cut out for them during the JustWorld International Horseless Horse Show at the European Pony Championship.  More than 80 competitors took part in the JustWorld signature fundraising event, racing around a course of obstacles on foot, attempting to leave all the jumps in place while finishing in the fastest time.  Participants competed in four separate classes, judged by official judge Gilles Petit, including the Mini Prix, Grand Prix, Pair Relay and Puissance, with announcers Alison Drummond and Yannick Bichon commentating on the action, and dedicated volunteer Xavier Boudon making it all happen.

Other fundraising efforts included a show-wide draw for spectacular prizes, including a set of custom blankets by Triple Crown Custom and Horseware Ireland, and a clinic with French National trainer Henk Nooren.  All of the proceeds from the sales of the Jumping Chantilly programs and special edition Jumping Chantilly baseball caps were donated to JustWorld by the Jumping Chantilly Horse show to go directly towards funding JustWorld projects.

“We are thrilled to have been able to help such a noble and just cause as the one represented by JustWorld International,” said Gérard Manzinali, director of Jumping Chantilly.  “We are eager and ready to expand our partnership with JustWorld for 2012.”

Founded in 2003 by Jessica Newman, JustWorld International is a not-for-profit, humanitarian organization which funds life-changing nutrition, health and hygiene, education, and leadership and cultural development programs for impoverished children in Cambodia, Honduras, Guatemala, and Brazil.  There are currently more than 500 Rider and Technical Official Ambassadors representing 40 different countries, whose efforts to support JustWorld’s projects have helped raise more than $4.5 million to date.  For more information on JustWorld International, or how to support the ‘Adopt a Project’ campaign, please visit www.justworldinternational.org.
