Friday, June 01 2012 by Editor
Wellington, FL-May 31, 2012 - Olympic hopeful Todd Flettrich and his equine partner, Otto, are hard at work getting ready for the USEF Olympic Dressage Selection Trials in Gladstone, NJ. The selection trials will decide which horse and rider teams will represent the United States in dressage at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The trials will be held at the United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation headquarters June 8-10 and 13-14. Todd Flettrich (Photo by Susan Stickle) In order to get closer to New Jersey, Flettrich and Otto recently returned to their summer home in Pennsylvania. The two had a successful winter show season in South Florida and were training in Wellington, FL, with Oded Shimoni , the U.S.-based Israeli coach who has proclaimed them both fit and strong.

GO THE DISTANCE IN KERRITS’ SLENDER RIDER PADDED CAPRI !

Friday, June 01 2012 by Editor
Kerrits Slender Rider Bingen, WA – Maybe it’s your first ride of the season. Maybe it’s a longer distance than you’ve ever ridden before. Whatever the circumstances, Kerrits’ Slender Rider Padded Capri ensures you return to the barn in the same shape as when you left. That’s because the stretchy, breathable capri is built with a soft moisture-wicking padded seat that cushions and absorbs every leap and trot. We worked with our design team in Italy to construct a seat pad specifically for horseback riding, extending over the sit bones to target cushioning right where riders need it most; seamlessly molded with all-way stretch, and segmented to expedite airflow and increase breathability. The soft, stretchy undergarment slims and supports thanks to compression riding technology. Zonal knit construction contours through the hip and thigh, while a wide waistband helps support abdominal and lower back muscles

Devon 2012

Monday, May 28 2012 by Editor
It’s the last week of May and you see this color:   You’re thinking:  a box from Tiffany’s, The Robin’s eggs that have just hatched, a beautiful cloudless sky?  If you’re one of the legions of competitive hunter or jumper riders, breeders, pony, horse or coaching drivers, side saddle, gaited or western riders, you are seeing Devon Blue, the ubiquitous color that drapes the boxes and grandstands at The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. The first Saturday night of the 2012 Devon Horse Show brings a chance to check out the vendors, the food, the carnival, who else is there, and, oh yeah, the horses. Devon has something for everyone punctuated by a few traditions of its very own

Monday, May 14 2012 by Editor
Beezie Madden By Halie Greening Beezie Madden Proudly a part of the 2004 gold medal Olympic team in Athens, and taking home both team gold and individual bronze in 2008 from Beijing, Elizabeth (“Beezie”) Madden will no doubt have spectators on the edge of their seats as she completes one of the last legs of her journey that hopefully leads to three-peat at the 2012 Olympics in London. Madden and her Coral Reef Via Volo, a thirteen year-old Belgian Warmblood mare will be making a long awaited return to the Grand Prix of Devon and the Open Jumper Stake, both Observation Events for the U.S. Show Jumping Team. Coral Reef Via Volo is owned by Coral Reef Ranch. Madden refers to the 15.3 hand mare as “Shrimp” back home at the barn.  She may be small in stature but Via and Madden have been amassing high, noteworthy placings in the U.S
