College eventing is growing!

Sunday, June 01 2014 by Editor
Just three years ago an eventing team at USC Aiken was just an idea. I vividly remember attending my first equestrian meeting at USCA with “Eventing?” on the power point and that was it.

Wednesday, May 21 2014 by Editor
Buying a used saddle brings with it many advantages: you are sure to save money over the cost of buying a new saddle, and you will save yourself the often uncomfortable process of breaking in a new saddle. But when buying a used saddle, you need to be on the lookout for a variety of issues that could signify that the saddle is damaged. Here’s how to avoid them

Visiting Hickstead

Thursday, May 15 2014 by Editor
The famous Hickstead bank I recently traveled to England on a horse shopping excursion to find some equine prospects to bring back home to the United States. We bisected the entire country in 4 days and rode about 65 horses (but who’s counting). One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the world renowned Hickstead horse show grounds and the home of the biggest equine bank jump in the world

Should You Give a Drill Team a Try?

Wednesday, May 14 2014 by Editor
Have you ever watched a good drill team in action? Keep Your Calm Before a Show

Whenever you ride in a horse show, you’ve invested a significant amount of time, money, and emotional energy into preparing for the day. Those sacrifices that you’ve made can create an atmosphere where the pressure is high and your nerves are on edge

Are You Prepared for Roadside Emergencies When Trailering?

Friday, May 02 2014 by Editor
When you trailer your horse to events like shows and clinics more frequently during the summer, your chance of running into a mechanical problem on the road increases. Before you leave the barn with your horse, take a moment to make sure that your truck and trailer are stocked with the equipment that you might need in the event of a breakdown. Tire Changing Equipment You don’t want a flat tire to sideline your trip.
