100 Years of Equestrian Olympic Sport

Thursday, July 19 2012 by Editor
History Hub: http://history.fei.org/ To what greater height could an athlete aspire than to Olympic and Paralympic competition? To carry the hopes and expectations of a nation on one’s shoulders is both an honour, beyond the realm of the ordinary, and a weight, which only the most gifted from each generation can ever aspire to carry. The three foundation sports of the FEI Family, Dressage, Eventing and Jumping and the more recent addition to our organisation, Para-Equestrian Dressage, hold a unique position in the modern Olympic & Paralympic Games as the only sports in which an athlete combines skills with an animal to create a partnership

It doesn’t get dark in Traverse City.

Tuesday, July 17 2012 by Editor
Castlewood  has traveled to a new venue for us: Traverse City, Michigan, home of Horse shows by the Bay. It took some 13 hours of driving for us to reach our second stop on our summer tour, but the journey has been well worth the trouble. From the layout of the facility, to the hotels, the food, entertainment, and a sun that seemingly never set, we have enjoyed the experience.
