THERMAL, CA (March 4, 2013) – Grady Lyman of Rancho Santa Fe, California won Sunday’s $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Prix riding Penelope Murray’s Flirt, rising to the top of a class of 52 contenders. The youngster created something of a sensation when she placed second, behind Sonoma Valley Stables’ Hope Glynn, in the first $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Prix of the 2013 HITS Desert Circuit on January 27.

Merrimac, MA – March 8, 2013 – The Sons of the Wind School of Equestrian Arts is gearing up for its 2013 Tour, where they will be conducting informational clinics for dressage riders and trainers, as well as showcasing the talent of their Lusitano mounts. The first stop of the tour will be at Cornell University from April 5-7, 2013, and then they will be traveling to the Midwest Horse Fair in Wisconsin from April 18-21.

Wellington, FL, March 10, 2013- Twenty-one-year-old Jessica Springsteen of Colts Neck, NJ, guided Stone Hill Farm’s Vindicat W to the winning round in Sunday’s $82,000 Suncast® 1.50m Championship Jumper Classic to conclude week nine of the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF), sponsored by The Bainbridge Companies. Showing on a beautiful afternoon at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL, Springsteen topped a field of great riders, including her trainer, U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Kraut.

All photos by Alan Fabricant More flying ponies were spotted in Wellie World (a nickname for Wellington, Florida)this weekend – which translates to fast galloping polo ponies!! Photographer Alan Fabricant (www.alfabphoto.com) was on hand for the action and sent me photos. I love the photos, like the one above, where no hooves are on the ground – that pony is flying! This weekend they played the qualifying game for the USPA Piaget Gold Cup and Audi beat Alegria and Veliente beat Coca Cola
