Juniors and Families, Junior Weekend, 2014

Monday, May 26 2014 by Editor
Show Jumping Hall of Fame – Juniors   Addison Gierkink came a good distance to Devon from Harpswell, Maine but her effort was well rewarded when she took home $5600 and the Blue Ribbon in Class 203, the $20,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame – Juniors.  Riding Candy Tribble and Windsor Show Stables Promised Lane, she was one of only four competitors in the first round of 23 to go double clear and advance to the second round.                   With a fast, thrifty and balanced second round she bested the next placed horse/rider combination of Luxina and Michael Hughes by over   two seconds in the jump off

May 22, 1896? The First Meeting Was Held To Create the Devon Horse Show

Monday, May 26 2014 by Editor
On May 22, 1896, the first meeting was held to create the Devon Horse Show. And the show’s founders weren’t fooling around – the first Devon Horse Show was held in Devon-Berwyn, Pennsylvania that July, just a short two months later. The first Devon Horse Show was an entirely different event from what it has grown into today.

Paradise, Honor Roll and more!

Monday, May 26 2014 by Editor
It has been pretty quiet for the team this month, however we have meetings set up this coming week to organize with our new officers and make a plan! We have a lot to do to get ready for next semester and especially our Collegiate Team Challenge at Full Gallop in November! Send invites, order ribbons and awards, find sponsors and donors, get our teams together and more! If any person or business is interested in being apart of USC Aiken’s FIRST EVER collegiate team challenge please contact me at marissajcollins@gmail.com ! Paradise Farm HT was yesterday and it was a great day! Beautiful weather…a bit hot at times though! The show ran great and from what I heard from many friends they all had a great day. I competed in the Open Training division and placed second! The xc course was a blast! Paradise has always been one of my favorite events!   Every semester the USCA Equestrian program dose an honor roll! Congratulations to the following Equestrian Club members who have been named to the Equestrian Club Honor Roll for the Spring 2014 semester

Pomp and Circumstances

Sunday, May 25 2014 by Editor
It’s been a very long time since I watched or participated in a Lead Line Class (my daughter is now 30) so I made a special effort to be on hand the other afternoon (NOT BEFORE 1:00, as the posted schedule stated) at The Devon Horse Show, Devon, Pennsylvania.  For many, this class of miniature people and miniature horses is the highlight of the weekend
