We ran in to the Florida Gulf Coast Equestrian Team at the American Invitational in Tampa, Florida. I always love to catch up teams everywhere I can as they are really the backbone of the sport here in the United States.

Have you ever been lucky enough to have seen one of these unusual looking horses in real life? The Akhal-Teke is an incredible, beautiful breed, and currently there are only about 3,500 of them in the world. A great endurance horse, the Akhal-Teke has an unusual appearance and looks like it’s stepped right out of a history book.

A celebration and symposium of Thoroughbreds in Second Careers on April 26 presented by New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program and Retired Racehorse Training Project April 10, 2013 -Lexington Kentucky- This year’s Thoroughbreds For All event will offer dinner followed by a special presentation by The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program to recognize and award the 17 riders who will be competing at Rolex on registered Thoroughbreds. The rest of the evening will consist of educational and entertaining sessions about selecting and working with off-the-track Thoroughbreds
