April 30, 2013 – The Dressage Foundation (TDF) is pleased to announce a new program that will make it possible for staff and Board Members to become better connected to the dressage communities across the country. Weezie Duda and Tango Judith Noone, Treasurer of TDF’s Board of Directors, is enlisting the help of very enthusiastic volunteers from each state in order to help the Foundation better serve dressage riders and supporters

UPPER MARLBORO, Md., April 14, 2013—Leighton Farm begins a clinic series focused on the retraining of thoroughbred horses today. The clinics run through August 24 and all proceeds will benefit Thoroughbred Placement Resources, a non-profit organization which focuses on the retraining and placement of thoroughbred horses. The clinics are designed to demonstrate the versatility and trainability of thoroughbred horses, as well as educating owners and addressing the specific needs of the horses

Animal welfare organizations support move to block spending WASHINGTON (April 10, 2013)—Congress could once again ban the use of federal funds to inspect horse slaughter plants in the United States if it follows the lead of the White House—a move that is strongly supported by The Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI). President Obama’s FY 2014 budget proposal includes a request for Congress to block spending by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to inspect U.S.
