Prepared by: Lindsay Yosay McCall On August 29, 2012 the United States Para-Equestrian Dressage Team will complete their final FEI horse inspection and the opening ceremonies for the 2012 London Paralympics will commence. The United States has selected their best equestrians including: veteran Paralympian Rebecca Hart, 27, and Lord Ludger, owned by Jessica Ransehousen; Jonathan Wentz, 21, of Richardson, Texas and Kai Handt’s NTEC Richter Scale; Donna Ponessa and Western Rose, owned by Wesley Dunham; and Dale Dedrick and her own Bonifatius.

(Houston, TX) ‒ The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is known as one of the largest and most prestigious horse shows in the country. With a legacy of 68 years of helping children, and a leader in giving, Pin Oak has donated more than $4.5 million to help build Texas Children’s Hospital’s Main and West Campuses. Seven years ago, Pin Oak created an educational field trip, inviting 1st and 2nd grade school children to the show for a “behind the scenes” barn tour to foster a passion for horses and excite young children about the world of equestrian sports.

Silicon Valley audiences have flocked to Cavalia: A Magical Encounter Between Human and Horse since it galloped into town. After weeks of sold-out performances and overwhelming demand, this equestrian extravaganza has been extended one final time. It is always fun to see their creativity expressed. I expected to see a few scores above 80% and maybe one above 90% and that is pretty much how it played out. Pony Club Championships East August 6, 2012 (Lexington, KY) The excitement of the 2012 Pony Club Championships East is beginning to dissipate but the memories and fun will last a lifetime. Members qualified in Games, Show Jumping, Eventing, Polocrosse, Quiz, Tetrathlon, or Dressage and competed in Lexington, VA on July 26-29, 2012. Although there isn’t much math in riding, there were some interesting numbers this year in the hosting of Championships. 3 – Days of non-stop competition fun

Statement from FEI Secretary General on disqualification of Canadian horse Victor

FEI Secretary General Ingmar De Vos has spoken publicly for the first time about the Canadian team Jumping horse Victor, which was disqualified under the FEI’s hypersensitivity protocol shortly before the Olympic team competition in London on 5 August. “Disqualification of an athlete will always spark speculation, but in the case of Tiffany Foster’s horse Victor the protocol established very clearly that this was an obvious case of hypersensitivity”, Ingmar De Vos said today. “This was a unanimous decision, supported by four highly qualified veterinarians who specialise in testing for hypersensitivity using a system that has been monitoring FEI competitions since 2005.” “These have been really great Games, and all the equestrian disciplines at Greenwich have been very special
