One year ago Ben Maher began his London 2012 Olympic campaign, jumping for the first time in the spectacular Greenwich arena as part of a team that would soon claim gold for Great Britain. Twelve months on to the day, Ben claimed his first victory in the historic Longines King George V Gold Cup at Hickstead, one of the oldest and most valuable Grands Prix in the country. The Essex-based rider had yet to win the class, also known as the British Grand Prix (with a €200,000 total prize fund), but it has always been one of his main aims

Cutler Farm Dressage Grand Opening Welcomes Riders and Celebrities, Brings World Class Dressage to New England

Medfield, MA (August 2, 2013) – “The farm was packed!” described Donna Cameron, owner of Cutler Farm Dressage about their Grand Opening weekend celebration, “People came from many different states to attend the party, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.” The celebration, which took place during the evening of June 29 th in Medfield, Massachusetts, was a momentous occasion for Cutler Farm, and served an important purpose for the New England dressage community and the Greater Boston area in many ways. Cameron couldn’t be happier with the success of the event, and is proud to have been able to give back to the equestrian community she appreciates so much. “We decided to host the event for several reasons,” Cameron explains, “First of all, I was really excited to introduce Heather Blitz in person to the New England dressage community and to our local neighborhood, and I was also excited to celebrate the beginning of summer and the arrival of show season in New England. But in addition, I felt very strongly about using this opportunity to raise funds for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, especially living here in the Boston area, so we could give back in a small way to this wonderful and supportive community.” From left to right, Heather Blitz, Cathy Drumm, Donna Cameron, Ruth Walker, Gwyneth Drumm, Miranda Drum, and Bliss Rufo at Cutler Farm Dressage’s Open House.

Laura Renwick speeds away with the spoils on Ladies’ Day
Sunday, August 04 2013

Britain’s number one female rider Laura Renwick raced to victory today in the Sky Sports Speed Classic, finishing more than 2sec clear of her nearest rival. Her mare Beluga swept round Kelvin Bywater’s 1.45m course, and though last-drawn Guy Williams looked to be fast, he wasn’t quick enough and had to settle for second place with Bijou van de Vijfheide. Rather aptly for Ladies’ Day, all of the top four horses in this class were mares.
